We are glad you are considering Christ Community for your wedding and desire that it be one of the most joyous and spiritual occasions of your lives. We believe marriage is the lifelong union of one woman to one man for the purpose of mutual upbuilding and the formation of families, and we ask that all wedding ceremonies held at Christ Community acknowledge the importance of the vows you are making to one another before God.
We are praying for God’s blessing on your relationship as you begin this new life together!
preparing for marriage
We believe premarital counseling is important. Therefore, we require and offer premarital counseling sessions. If you are receiving counseling from another church, a letter of premarital counseling completion must be sent to the Christ Community wedding coordinator.
For your ceremony, you may select your officiating pastor from our church staff (as available) or from another church. Officiants that are not part of the Christ Community staff must be in general agreement with the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.
Christ Community is one church in multiple locations. We have three church facilities to offer you: our Brookside Campus can seat up to 540, our Leawood Campus can seat up to 675, and our Olathe Campus can seat up to 500.
A technical staff person will be present at your rehearsal/ceremony to assist with technical elements. Wedding music should be appropriate for a religious ceremony.
The rehearsal typically takes one hour. We recommend everyone involved in the wedding ceremony be present for the rehearsal. Date and time will be arranged with our wedding coordinator.
We require you to have a valid marriage license. For up-to-date wedding license information, please visit the appropriate website. If your wedding is taking place at our Brookside Campus, please visit the Jackson County, Missouri website. If your wedding is taking place at our Leawood Campus or Olathe Campus, please visit the Johnson County, Kansas website.
Our church building is available to you for a total of four hours on your wedding day.
