Rediscovering Jesus’ Kingdom
If you really want to know Jesus and follow Him, then you can’t just embrace Jesus, you also need to embrace His Kingdom. Jesus didn’t come to help us escape the world, He came to reclaim it.
When we say we want His Kingdom to come, do we even know what it is we’re asking for? What are the ways Jesus reclaims His world and where do we fit into His agenda?
His Kingdom seems absolutely backward from the way everything else operates, and yet it’s just what this world needs. Join us as we rediscover Jesus’ Kingdom through the Gospel account of Luke.

Parables: The Pharisee and the Tax Collector - 12
The only solution to how broken I am is for God Himself to come save me. Me. God had to come and get me. Give His life for me. To enter this life, I don’t bring my resume, I bring my shame. And surrender. And trust. God, be merciful to me, a sinner! If that doesn’t humble you, you haven’t embraced it. Then we are that Pharisee. And yet, the gospel humbles us, it also exalts us. For Jesus was glad to do it. You were worth saving. Worth dying for. Worth pursuing. YOU. So who do you want to be in this story? Right. But eternally wrong. Or admitting you’re wrong. But in the process of being made right?
From Series: "Parables: from the Book of Luke - Olathe Campus"
Jesus’s teachings weren’t always straightforward. In fact, even as someone widely known as the greatest teacher and communicator the world has ever seen, Jesus often spoke in ways that purposefully confounded crowds and left some people walking away confused. Jesus spoke in riddles and stories, and in these teachings, there was always a twist. A reversal. In other words, something that makes us want to lean in desiring to know more, or to get up and walk away. Most of all, Jesus’ parables are a window... a window into the upside-down, paradoxical kingdom of God. Join us this summer as we explore Jesus’ brilliant stories and as we seek out His kingdom revealed to us in their midst.
