Return to Joy
We were created for joy. It is the root of every longing, and we spend the majority of our lives searching for it. Joy is both a command and a promise, but we’re often not very good at understanding it or finding it. Every one of us wants more of it, so how do we do it? Where do we get it? How do we sustain it?
Join us this spring as we study one of the most joy-filled books of the Bible, the letter to the Philippians, and together, let’s return to joy.

Everything Sad Untrue: The Deceiver of the World - 06
Sermon Notes Conversation Starter
The victory of Christ does not mean the end of war. The church is called out to live His victory, giving the world a chance to know the grace of God.
From Series: "Everything Sad Untrue - Shawnee Campus"
We all know something is wrong. Politicians promise if you vote for them things can be right again. Religions promise if you obey their teachings things can be right again. Businesses promise if you buy their product you can feel right again. We know it is not true, but we keep hoping...Maybe this time. But what if everything wrong can be made right? What if all the empty promises we believe are pointing to one, true promise? What if our broken world can be fixed? What if everything sad will one day come untrue? The book of Revelation claims precisely this, but in a strange, confusing, hope-filled way. This book gave the earliest Christians power to navigate a broken, sad world with courageous, unshakable joy. What did they know that we don’t? They knew Revelation, and so should we. Join us as we read what they read, we pray what they prayed—so that our church community might live as they lived.

Conversation Starters
Conversation Starters are one way we at Christ Community seek to dig deeper into the current sermon and biblical text. They are available during community group sessions.
To locate Conversation Starters go to your Weekly Update emails, delivered to your personal email every Saturday morning. They will always contain a link to Sermon Notes, and Conversation Starters (when available).
