Fall 2015 Bible Studies

The following Women’s Bible Studies will be offered this fall beginning in September. Please register HERE by September 1 if you would like to join us.

What Love Is
The letters of 1, 2, & 3 John were written to encourage followers of Jesus to remain faithful to the truth. In this study, believers are challenged to look at contrasting themes such as walking in light instead of darkness, truth versus lies and deception, loving God more than loving the world, and the meaning of true fellowship and community rather than shallowness. What Love Is reveals not only the heart of John but also the heart of Jesus. This study is offered in two different groups. One will meet on Tuesday mornings from 9:00-11:15am The other is an evening study and meets on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00pm. Both groups begin on September 15.

This group will be using Tim Keller’s book, Romans 1-7 for you as a resource to take an in-depth look at the first half of Romans and get a grip on its meaning and show how it transforms our hearts and lives today. This study meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:00-10:30am beginning September 15.

Moving On After Moving In
Just Moved? Are you new to the community or do you know someone who is? We will be offering a new group this fall called Moving on After Moving in. This study is designed to offer encouragement and friendship to women who have been uprooted by a move. The group is offered on Tuesday mornings from 9:00-11:15am beginning September 15.

Sermon On The Mount
In this study, we will consider what it means to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew’s Gospel opens with three chapters containing Jesus’ longest recorded message – a sermon given to His disciples early in His ministry to articulate what the life of a Christ-follower would look like. It was a message intended to turn upside down every expectation His closest followers might have. This group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 9:00-11:15am beginning on September 23.

College Prayer
This group is designed to encourage moms of college students as they join together to cover their students in prayer. They will meet over lunch on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 11:30-1:00pm beginning on September 23.

Fool’s Talk
In our post-Christian context, public life has become markedly more secular and private life infinitely more diverse. Yet many Christians still rely on cookie-cutter approaches to evangelism and apologetics. Most of these methods assume that people are open, interested and needy for spiritual insight when increasingly most people are not. Our urgent need, then, is to make a convincing case for the gospel to people who are not interested in it. This group will be using Os Guinness’ book, Fool’s Talk to explore the art and power of creative Christian persuasion. This group meets for lunch and discussion on Thursdays from 11:30-1:30pm and begins on September 10.
