06 Ahab and War
From Series: "With Us - Leawood Campus"
How do you live in a place where you don’t seem to belong – where hostility abounds and nothing comes easy? Nearly 3000 years ago, the Prophet Elijah wrestled with these questions. He longed to follow God through one of the darkest periods in Israel’s history, but found himself facing difficulty after difficulty, heartache after heartache. As the wicked King Ahab coaxed God’s people deeper and deeper into rebellion, Elijah responded some days with courage and others with despair. He demonstrated great faith, and felt deep fear. Through it all, he learned one resounding lesson: God is faithful. When our world feels dark and hopeless, He is with us. When we feel marginalized and discarded, He is with us. When our problems are complex and solutions feel elusive, He is with us. When we confront the brokenness around us and within us, God is there – just as He was with Elijah. What do you do when you just want to give up? This summer, join us as we talk together through this powerful narrative and rediscover the reality that we are not alone. Because no matter where we go or what we face, this truth remains: God is with us.
