04 A Song of Joy
Psalm 126
From Series: "Songs That Sustain Us - Leawood Campus"
If there’s one thing that always sets the tone for Christmas, it’s the music. When those bells are ring-ting-tingling, they conjure images of presents under the tree and jolly ol’ Saint Nick. They warm our hearts and put that holiday pep in our step. Songs do that. They move us one way or another. But the question remains as to where? And to what end? We know we need songs that offer more than a temporary escape. What we really need this Christmas are songs that sustain us. Songs that help us hope when we’ve forgotten how to hope. Songs that point us to peace when surrounded by chaos. Songs that assure us of love when we feel abandoned. Songs that stir joy when pain seems to dominate. What we need are the Psalms. Join us this Advent season as we let the songs that have sustained God’s people for thousands of years teach us to remember and wait. And what we’ll find is that there’s always more to celebrate than we once thought.
