Grief & Glory-An Afternoon of Art, Poetry & Music
Feb 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM
Organizer: Kelly Kruse

Please join us for a special afternoon centered on the themes of grief and glory.

Surrounded by the powerful landscapes by painter Dawn Waters Baker, the Four Chapter Gallery invites you to experience music from members of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Choir led by Charity Ritchie, and a performance of spoken word poetry from Kansas City poet Darrien Case.
Artist Dawn Waters Baker will also share insight into her work on display titled "Civil", which seeks to depict the emotional and physical landscape of the American Civil War.

There will be time to view the artwork and speak with the artist. Light refreshments will be provided.

This exhibit highlights Baker's experience during a a month long residency at Gettysburg National Military Park offered by the National Parks Arts Foundation. Through her artwork, Dawn seeks to understand aspects of the civil war and its effects on humanity through the lens of landscape.
