Hope Center Christmas Drive
November 17, 2019. All day
Organizer: Alan Mercer

The Hope Center, one of our outreach partners, has a mission to provide asset-based opportunities for sustainable growth where children, youth, and families can have hope and flourish in Kansas City's East-side.

Each year The Hope Center hosts a Christmas party for their neighborhood, providing toys for the kids and gift cards for parents to use for gifts or regular expenses during the holidays and throughout the year.

Consider how and your family, community group or neighbors could make an impact on the lives of these families by donating toys and gift cards through the Hope Center. We will accept these donated items November 17 through December 8.

Donations can be as small as $10, but there is no limit to how much you can contribute. We do ask for a $100 limit on any one gift card and a $60 value limit for each toy purchased.

Final Drop-Off Date is Sunday, December 8!

Gift Card Guidelines
Gift cards should come from a well-known and easily accessible stores. There are two general kinds of gift cards you can purchase. If you’d like to keep the dollar value lower ($10-$25), a grocery store, gas station, or eatery would be a good choice (although Walmart cards are helpful in any denominational value). If you want to contribute a larger sum ($50-$100), big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, or Costco are a great choice.
Here are some options for stores that are easily accessible from The Hope Center neighborhood:

  • Walmart
  • Sam's Club
  • Costco
  • Subway
  • Chick-fil-a
  • Starbucks
  • Pizza Hut
  • Quiktrip
  • Home Depot
  • Lowe's
  • Walgreen
  • Sunfresh

Please write the dollar amount on the gift card in permanent marker before you bring it to the collection area.

Donations can also be made ONLINE HERE and we will purchase gift cards with the money.

Thank you for considering how you might get involved in coming alongside The Hope Center this holiday season to bless families in Kansas City.
