The Leawood Campus is partnering with Global Orphan Project and CarePortal to host this Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) on Saturday, September 14 from 8:30am-12:00pm.
The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) offers an opportunity to gain a glimpse into the lives of families in our communities who face poverty every day. COPE provides an opportunity to learn and engage with other people committed to serving children and families in your community.
The experience was developed with individuals and families living in low-income communities who bravely shared their stories. Their experiences give participants a glimpse into what it is like to live below the poverty line and shatter stereotypes often perpetuated by mass media. The simulation also captures the role that the broader community often plays in their interactions with low-income families.
We hope you and your family will consider joining us for this powerful experience to more fully understand how we might work together to make an impact on poverty in our community.
