Flood: an elegy, a fear-First Friday Exhibit

Organizer: Leigh Ann Dull

Four Chapter Gallery is pleased to present Flood: an elegy, a fear. This provocative body of work by Cameron DuPratte asks: Can humans learn from their mistakes? Why do humans rush towards destruction? What beauty might be lost due to our our hasty and myopic decision-making?

The show tells the story of an imagined flood. The flood results from willful human ignorance and evils. As the waters rise, much is lost; little is preserved. Large painted works, handmade books, and sculptural work tell the story of destruction, and examine what remains.

DuPratte, who recently became a father, writes: “The goal of this show is not to chastise or to preach; rather, it comes out of my own emotional state, as I find myself fearing for a future other than my own.”

Cameron DuPratte is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he studied Industrial Design and Visual Art. To learn more, visit:
