Mission Southside has a lunch bus over Spring Break where they feed around 400 hungry children. While most kids look forward to Spring Break, our friends in Olathe with food insecurity find themselves hungry without breakfast and lunch from school. Mission Southside literally goes to the neighborhoods and feeds the kids over lunch and then provides a snack pack for each child to take home so they have something else to eat that day. As a church, we would like to pack 400 of these snack packs for Mission Southside to give to children in our Olathe community over Spring Break.
That's where we need your help. There are a couple of ways you can be involved.
1. You can donate items for the bags by clicking HERE. Please drop off donated items to the church no later than Sunday, January 20.
2. You can come to our Serve Night on January 23, 6:30-8pm to eat pizza, find out more opportunities to serve with Mission Southside, and to help us pack the snack packs and write notes to the children who will receive them. This is a great opportunity for families with elementary children or individuals who are looking for a way to serve our community. If you would like to come to our Serve Night, click HERE. Limited childcare will be provided for children under 3 if you need it. Children 4 and up are welcome to help. Pizza will be $1 per slice.
