Understanding Islam
Feb 2, 2019 at 9:00 AM
Organizer: Alan Mercer

It seems Islam is everywhere in our news and cultural dialogues today, yet most of us have a limited knowledge of its basic teachings. If you would like to have a deeper understanding of Islam and gain some practical skills to engage people from a Muslim background, then please join us for a special event on Saturday, February 2 from 9am to 12pm at Christ Community’s Leawood Campus.

Come and learn firsthand from missionaries actively engaged in ministry in the heart of the Muslim world. One of our instructors is a British man with over thirty years of ministry experience working with Muslims in the Middle East. The other instructor is a key Iranian church leader from a Muslim background who has been involved in outreach to Muslims in various countries including Muslim refugees in Europe. Both are members of Elam's teaching team (Elam’s mission is to strengthen and expand the church in Iran and beyond).

This event will NOT be an Elam Ministries update, but rather a training session which will cover the basic tenets of Islam and how to engage with Muslims in your community and beyond. We know you will leave informed, encouraged and eager to practice the new skills you learn in this training session!
