The Downtown Campus is located in the Crossroads District, the center of the arts community in Downtown Kansas City. We gather as people from all stages of life who are committed to intentional community. We seek to proclaim the beauty of the gospel in our thoughtful engagement of Scripture, contribute to the arts in our creative worship of our Triune God, and give voice to the most vulnerable in our city through impassioned service. You are always welcome to join us as we seek to follow Jesus in loving our city to life.

monthly update

We are an intergenerational collection of individuals and families from different communities purposed for the flourishing of Downtown KC. We have diverse callings and distinct gifts, and yet together we celebrate God’s redeeming work, encouraging one another as we strive to be integral and influential apprentices of Jesus Christ.

what to expect

We’re excited you’re interested in Christ Community. We know contemplating a visit to a church for the first time can lead to questions. We hope the section below will help answer a few of the questions you might have about worshiping at Christ Community. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us.

About the Services

While our style of worship is a blend of historical and contemporary, our commitment is to beautiful and thoughtful worship anchored in Bible-centered and relevant teaching. Each week, we invite all Christ followers regardless of church membership to come together to celebrate Communion. Join us as we worship together at 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30am on Sundays.

What will the worship service be like?

At Christ Community, our hope is that when you attend on a Sunday morning, both your heart and your mind will be engaged and challenged by all that takes place. Our services include singing, prayer, readings, teaching from the Bible, and communion. We desire to honor God, express our devotion to Jesus, and learn more about what it means to follow Him in all aspects of life.

What is the music like?

Most Sundays, our music is guitar-based and is presented in a contemporary music context with elements of historical worship throughout. The choice of music is directly related to the Biblical text and its application, often including a mixture of old and new music that remembers and proclaims who God is and what He has done for us.

What should I wear?

We’re not really worried about that, and it is reflected in the diverse styles you will see on a Sunday morning. Know this: we are not so much interested in what you wear as who you are and who you are becoming.

ministries and partners

Community Groups are designed to be a place where people can engage with others from our church on a more personal level than what Sunday mornings can afford. Community Groups are small groups of people who meet in homes or lofts for the purpose of growing in the three relationships of the Christian life: our relationship with God, each other, and our city and world. Groups meet weekly during our fall, winter, and spring sessions.

We desire to develop relationships and share resources with organizations who are helping the local church flourish around the world. Visit the outreach section of our website to read more about our local and global partners church-wide.

A Caring Family
A Caring Family

Our mission at Christ Community is “to be a caring family of multiplying disciples influencing our community and world for Jesus Christ.” The core of our Family and Care Ministries is to design and offer ministries that magnify and emphasize the “caring family” part of our mission. We are working to establish the family as God intended it to be.

Family Enrichment and Education

We offer enrichment and education opportunities (classes, conferences, and retreats) in order to strengthen marriages and to help parents sharpen their parenting skills.

For details about current opportunities visit our calendar or contact for more information.

Counseling and Professional Assistance

Here at Christ Community we recognize that sometimes life and circumstance may require you to connect with a professional for help. Should you find yourself or someone you care about in need of professional help and you are uncertain where to turn, please contact one of our pastors and they can share with you ideas of counselors and professionals with whom you might connect.

Children's Ministries
Children's Ministries

Our Sunday morning worship gathering is intentionally intergenerational, as people from all ages and stages of life worship God together as a community. However, we also provide, safe, age-specific environments where children can play and learn about faith. A nursery space for children under the age of 3 is staffed by trained, background checked volunteers and is available during our 8:30 and 10:00am services. Programming for children ages 3-12 is provided during our 10:00am service only in a secure space next door. Parents may check in their children at the Children’s Ministries room before the service begins. Activity bags for children of all ages are available outside our Nursery room during all of our worship gatherings.

If you have any questions, please email Children’s Ministries at

What Is Razors Leadership Pathway?
What is Razors Leadership Pathway?

Razors Leadership Pathway is the place where men and women at Christ Community are “sharpened” (Proverbs 27:17) and refined as leaders so that they are razor-sharp, prepared to lead with integrity of heart and skillful hands (Psalm 78:70-72) in the local church and in their community and world.

Who is it for?

Razors Leadership Pathway is designed for anyone at Christ Community who desires to become a more integral and effective leader, both in the church and in our community and world. It is designed to train and equip leaders at Christ Community and is generally the basic prerequisite for anyone wishing to serve in a place of leadership at Christ Community.

If you have any questions about whether this is the right pathway for you, please contact one of our downtown staff to find out more, or visit our Razors website for details and registration information.

The FourChapter.Gallery at our Downtown Campus is a dynamic, experimental space gathering art, artists, and audiences to engage and grow in deeper understanding of the human design and experience. Managed in a partnership between Christ Community and The Culture House, the FourChapter.Gallery seeks to contribute beauty, understanding, and flourishing to our great city.

Events, such as First Fridays at the FourChapter.Gallery, are a great opportunity to connect with friends and neighbors in conversation about the intersection between art and the gospel. If you’d like to attend, just show up anytime during gallery hours ready to enjoy a great community experience!

opportunities for center city commuters

Do you live in the suburbs but spend a majority of your time in the city center for work?

It is a privilege to be one church with multiple locations across the city. One advantage to our city collaboration is offering opportunities in the city center for those who commute in everyday for their work. If you are eager for more ways to pursue the common good of our city while working in the city center, this is the place to go.
